About Us
Welcome to Sun Valley Fabric Granary! Located near the famous Sun Valley Ski Resort, Sun Valley Fabric Granary resides in a beautiful old building that once served as the area's lumber, feed, and hardware store. The building has been loving restored by the Mitchell family and The Idaho Heritage Foundation has honored them for their work in rescuing and preserving a historic structure. The building now houses thousands of bolts of designer fabrics, a full selection of sewing notions, needle arts products, and quilting and sewing patterns and books.Since the store opening in 2005, we've sponsored some of the biggest names in the quilting industry. Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mabley were here in 2009 and taught master classes to quilters. Quilters came from all over the country to work with Kaffe and learn his theories on color, pattern, and design.
We are fortunate to have a talented group of quilting professionals that reside in the Sun Valley area and are affiliated with the shop. Janet Houts and Jean Ann Wright, are the authors of the highly acclaimed quilt books: "Circle of Nine," "Quilting A Circle of Nine," and "Log Cabin Quilting the Basics and Beyond." Susan Coons, our applique teacher, has over 35 years experience teaching sewing and applique and is always up to date on new applique techniques and patterns. Fina
